Memorial Day Thanks

A very special thanks goes out to all the servicemen and women past and present. I have to say when I think of and especially when I see someone in uniform, I literally get butterflies of thanks in my stomach. If you have friends or family who have served or are serving now…
please thank them for me:)

I took The Freshly Made Sketches #238 literally to show the Heart of Thanks with the Stars and Stripes representing those who serve or who have served our country. I used the heart from the NEW Sweet and Sassy Heart Framelits coming out!

SU Sitting Here with Sheltering Tree

I played around with the new Stampin’ Up Sitting Here stamp set this weekend. Oh, I just love photopolymer stamps- so crisp and clean and easy to stamp. I made a canopy of trees and added some blades of grass with the SU Sheltering Tree stamp set to finish out my summer scene.

I used a color pallette of Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, and Pumpkin Pie. My doggie is Tip Top Taupe- still wondering about the color of my pooch???

I added some dimension to the card by popping up the circular and the square pillow after running my scoring tool around the edges of the back of the images while I had it lying on my piercing mat. So many fun ideas are swimming around in my head but this simple design just makes me smile:)

I have a feeling this will be a favorite set in the new catalog…what do you think?

SU Swirly Bird with Swirly Scribbles

Here’s a fun card using the new Swirly Bird/Swirly Scirbbles Bundle along with
all five new IN COLORS for 2016-2018.

I just loved how they all came together on this card!

Stamp Ink Paper for Challenge #49- Flowers!

The largest scribble flower is Peek-a-boo Peach, the medium flower on the upper right is Sweet Sugarplum, the smallest flower on the lower left is Flirty Flamingo, and the leaves are Emerald Envy. I stamped the splatter from the Swirly Bird stamp set and the sentiment from Watercolor Words using the new Dapper Denim ink which ties everything together on the Dapper Denim card base:) Don’t overlook the Watercolor Words stamp set- it is a larger one that sometimes scares crafters off but it is super cute with a lot of fun and versatile words to use! And it creates quick and easy cards when paired with the images in the set:)

Cleaning up and organizing my stamp room the last few days…so I was happy to stop and just create a card for a few minutes!

SU All About Everything April 2016 Paper Pumpkin

I thought I would share another card using the exclusive free stamp set All About Everything from the April 2016 Paper Pumpkin. It is a really versatile set- too bad it was not in the catalog! Super simple layout using sunflower colors- Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, and Garden Green.

I built the sentiment from the two stamps You are my and Happy Place. I stamped the large flower in Daffodil Delight ink and the smaller flower inside with Crushed Curry ink. I also made a cross-hatch in the middle of the flower with Soft Suede ink by stamping two times in opposite directions.

SU All About Everything April ’16 Paper Pumpkin

Hey everyone…I am still alive…I was just buried beneath a pile of stamping supplies and my kids’ stuff moving them into their new homes the last 7 days! I have had this super cute SU All About Everything free stamp set from the April ’16 Paper Pumpkin laying on my desk for a while now just waiting to be inked up with the bright colors Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Cucumber Crush.

It doesn’t get any easier than this…just stamping and CASING. Well, it could have been easier if I had not smeared the word everything and had to redo it…or if I had not put a Bermuda Bay fingerprint on the card and had to do it again…or if someone who pinned it would have pinned the original designer…ever have one of those days?

I saw this card pinned by a few stampers but all roads led to nowhere so I can’t give credit to the original artist but here is the pic:
