SU Reason for the Season and Festive Flower Punch

August 29, 2016

I was so inspired by Rita’s poinsettia card this week at Freshly Made Sketches #251 that I turned some poinsettias I had on hand into a card using the sketch Cindy made for more inspiration.

I also made this one:

I love Cherry Cobbler cardstock with any kind of green but I did use retired Mossy Meadow cardstock since my leaves were already Mossy Meadow on my poinsettia. A retired Antique Brad was already on my poinsettia, too.

But the most important thing is…the SU Reason for the Season stamp set and the Festive Flower Punch are still current in our Annual Catalog in case you missed it in last year’s Holiday catalog! I do love the stamp image of the poinsettia in the set, too.

SU Thoughtful Branches

August 25, 2016

Have you seen this beauty floating through cyberspace? It was created by a German demonstrator,

Danny Hikade, using the Thoughtful Branches Bundle.

sunflower card

I was so taken by it that I made one myself! I used the actual branches from the Thinlits, stamped the leaves on the Very Vanilla cardstock before I ran it through the Big Shot with the Brickwall embossing folder, and tied on a twine bow. I used Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, and Garden Green (LOVE that color) as my palette.

To make that cute little middle, just stamp the leaf foliage image and die cut. Then punch out a 1 1/2″ circle out of the leaves and mount it on another solid circle the same size. Easy peasy!

LOCAL STAMPERS…the Thoughtful Branches Bundle ends on August 31…I am still accepting spots for classes on Wednesday evening, Sept.14 and Thursday afternoon and evening, Sept. 15. Let me know if you want to come so I can order you the bundle!

SU Best Birds with Birds and Blooms Thinlits

August 22, 2016

Happy Monday, everyone! I wanted to get in on the fun at Pals Paper Arts #314 this round.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card:

SU Best Birds Gold Foil

Those birds are so sweet, aren’t they? Did you notice the tiny little hearts in the upper right corner? They came from the birdie’s tail:)

So, I stamped the sentiment crooked on the pretty paper from the AWESOME Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack. Boy, was I bummed since the gold embossing turned out great:(

To fix my mistake, I just punched the sentiment out using my retired oval and scallop oval punches. I  then mounted it and liked it better after my mistake (frown turned upside down:)

SU Best Birds sentiment with dimesionals

Can you believe I did not even notice until this weekend that the Birds and Blooms framelit/thinlits not only framed the stamped images in the Best Birds stamp set but also had three birds that are just cut out! Yea! Take a look…and they come in a bundle with 10% off both of them!

SU Thoughtful Branches with Beautiful Branches Thinlits

August 18, 2016

I thought I would play around with Lisa’s Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge # 61  at Stamp Ink Paper.

SIP-Challenge-61-Tic-Tac-Toe-768x994

I chose BIRD-TREE-BLUE straight through the middle.

I used the Stampin’ Up Thoughtful Branches Bundle that is available through August 31 while supplies last. So glad I go it! It is really versatile- definitely a lot of things you can do with it.

SU Thoughtful Branches With Red Bird

Notice how the branches can be seen through the foliage? I used the tree framelit and attached it to the tree stump image that was cut with the coordinating framelit. The fun little cloud comes from the SU Sprinkles of Life stamp set and the Tree Builder Punch. I even tried another version of the card (below) with the apples in the stamp set. I just love the grass and ground images in the set that can be used with other stamp sets I have:)

SU Thoughtful Branches with appples

My color palette was Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Real Red, and Whisper White.

Remember, this bundle is available until August 31st. Take another look:
