SU Create a Cupcake with Remembering Your Birthday

Good Monday Morning, peeps! T-30 minutes and we are on the road to Florida to take our daughter to her new job. We were packing all weekend but I managed to get a quick card done last night for Freshly Made Sketches #146. I just needed to do something creative before I went to bed!

FMS146

I used the new SU Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper with its bright colors and the SU Create a Cupcake and Remembering Your Birthday stamp sets. I used a trendy word bubble for the sentiment from the SU Word Bubble Framelits.  I am awaiting the new cupcake set that coordinates with the Cupcake Builder punch but for now I used the retired one- it is just so sweet- I will never give it up!

Hope your week starts out fabulous, friends! XOXO

SU Truly Grateful with SU Gently Falling

It’s Friday already? This week flew by…I had a blast with some great gals last night playing around with the Perfect Blend stamp set. As I was getting things together for class  earlier in the afternoon with my back out of sorts, I almost forgot I had a card to do for the Friday Mashup #170! I got to work and finished in record time, and was even happy with my card:)

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project using the “Sketch.”
  • Create a project using the “Delft Tile Technique.” Tutorial here
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project using the “Sketch & Delft Tile Technique.”

I watched the video but went a little out of the box and did a Faux Tile card. I promise I will do a Delft Tile in the future. The Faux Tile essentially is the same thing but with a clear embossed layer over it making it look like ceramic tile. I simply scored my paper, stamped my images, covered it in Versamark, and heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder after I sponged it a bit on the edges and middle. I also clear embossed the acorn and the sentiment. I made a similar card with my class last year so I was familiar with the Faux Tile technique which made my card come together quickly.

Check out the second photo to see the ceramic look.

P.S. I can’t wait to try the Delft Tile technique but was short on time so I did the Faux Tile instead. At least it was close, huh? Check out the fabulous examples the Design Team have on display for you at The Friday Mashup # 170!

SU Weekly Deals July 22-28

Hey friends, hope you are all well. I am a bit under the weather with some lower back inflammation that started a day before Convention. And, to say the least, flying, walking, and lugging bags around did not help…lol. I was running on adrenaline the whole week, and it has caught up with me! I am excited though for my upcoming Product Class on Thursday which has me a bit busy so I am sorry for my lack of creative posting this week with my back out of sorts. I pray it feels better soon because on Monday I am driving with my daughter from Pittsburgh down to FLA where she landed a fantastic job as an RN!

Wanted to let you know the great Weekly Deals SU has today, July 22 through Monday, July 28:

SU Treat Cups for the Friday Mashup 169

Hey everyone..

I finally got internet access at the hotel tonight in Salt Lake City just in time for the Friday Mashup post! I was getting nervous since yesterday I could not log on and doing a post from my phone wasn’t cutting it. I even had to bring my card here to the Stampin’ Up convention since I left so early Wednesday without any sunshine in my family room to snap a photo. I was just a little too busy to get it done any earlier in the week.

So, here is my Friday Mashup Challenge #169 straight to you from the hotel lobby! Of course, I did not look strange taking the photo since the hotel is full of demonstrators sharing swaps and ideas…lol.

fm169

The Mashup Challenge:

Create a project using a “Background Stamp.”

Create a project with “something 3-D on it.”

or Mash it Up! and create a “project with a 3-D element and a Background Stamp.”

Snowman Treat Cup

I decided to do a little “Christmas in July” before the month is over…

I Mashed It Up by using the SU Hardwood stamp to create a rustic background for my 3D snowman with a SU treat cup filled with mini Altoids. I scavenged  some random felt ribbon I just loved from World Market to make a cozy scarf and added a sprig of greenery to finish off his hat.

Make sure to check out the fun Design Team inspiration cards/projects at the Friday Mashup. I can’t wait to see what your creative minds come up with this week!
