Taking a second look at a card…SU Hold on to Hope

February 28, 2018

This is a NEW post…read on…

So, I made this card, I liked it, and I posted it…remember?

And then…I kept looking at it and wondered what was off…do you ever do that?

Aha! I mistakenly thought the ribbon was black with silver in it
(late night stamping can do that)
…well, the Sale-a-bration Shimmer Ribbon is gray! So I revamped my card…

Isn’t it a totally different look?
I still like the black on the card, but prefer the Basic Gray card base!
What do you think?

SU Hold on to Hope Emboss Resist

February 23, 2018

May I say that the NEW Sale-a-bration Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper is GORGEOUS!!!!
I MEAN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!
And it is fun to emboss resist, too!
Look how beautiful the silver and gold shine through after I sponged Memento Black ink over it!!
My friend, Linda Heller, brought this old technique of emboss resist using this paper to my attention last week:)

It is easy to see how I made this card…I just die cut the larger gold cross and adhered the thinner silver cross to it.
I added a Clear Faceted Gem to the middle of the silver cross and added a banner embossed in gold. Simple yet elegant!

SU Beautiful Day

February 21, 2018

You get a two-fer today with the SU Beautiful Day stamp set.

I stamped my butterfly on vellum and colored the back of the image  with my Stampin’ Blends. I cut out a large rectangle from the Rich Razzleberry cardstock and framed the vellum. Then, I adhered the frame to Whisper White panel on the Daffodil Delight card base.

I colored the flower with my Stampin’ Blends as well and fussy cut it.
Then, I adhered it to a panel of the Powder Pink Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.

I just love a big border on my cards, do you use this design element much?
