SU High Tide

January 23, 2017

The new SU High Tide stamp set will make you feel like an artist when you are finished making a card. It is so EASY to create a scene with the sand, grass, lighthouse, birds, and water! The shadow on the lighthouse really finishes the scene…

su-high-tide-fms

In retrospect, I used Basic Gray for the shadow which I think was a good idea but I carried it through on the birds on the land and in the sky but next time, I think I may use black for both of the birds. What do you think?

A little insight into this card…

As we were watching our Steelers go down the drain last night, my mind wandered off to the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge # 271.  So I inconspicuously excused myself to make this card.

I was thinking of how the light could be captured inside the design element in the sketch. Then my search for a sentiment…YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE…came from the Jar of Love stamp set. There is also one in the Annual catalog’s Hostess Set No Pun Intended.

Look at the neat images you can use to paint your landscape…

SU Special Reason in Yellow and Blue

January 22, 2017

I just love the new SU Special Reason stamp set, you may remember this card a few posts back:

For more info you can see the card HERE.

I decided to try out some fresh, bright colors on this card. I am happy the stamps transition well with different palettes of color. It really is a great stamp set with versatile framelits, too. Notice the leaf die cuts on the first card are smaller and the leaves on bright card are larger. These leaves can easily work with other stamp and framelits you may already have. Have you ever got a set and just needed another type of leaf? I know I will be using this set a lot on its own and with other sets.

I even added a wooden element to the card when I saw the Natural Elements theme challenge at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #82.

Thanks for the inspiration SIP:)

I LOVE the wood with the bright colors and flowers!
