MUSE Card Club Guest Designer -SU Backyard Basics

I am so excited to be  the MUSE Card Club  #37 Guest Designer this week. I just love playing along with the participants each week- so many talented cardmakers out there. I send out thanks to all of you who have inspired me week after week! I have been wanting to ink up my SU Backyard Basics set and use the coordinating framelits  so I decided to use it for a card my neighbor needed this week. I can’t wait to see how you are inspired by it- will it be the colors, the design, the flower, or the kind of card?

SU Secret Garden with Bring on the Cake

I loved the blues and black on Karen Meadie’s Card for the MUSE Card Club Challenge # 36 this week. Her card inspired me to create a panel of flowers in hues of blues so I used my Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze Ink Pad to stamp the flowers. I decided on black solid rhinestones for my pop of black since my butterflies just were not fluttering for me tonight. I matched up my rainbow of blue inks with SU Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay. I added a simple sentiment from SU Bring on the Cake and that’s it for tonight, dear friends;)

All things work together for a Colour Q Birthday Card

A sweet gal with a sweet tooth has a birthday coming up so I wanted to use a cupcake on her card. How neat to be able to use the Colour Q # 208 colors of black, white, and a spot of one color (SU Regal Rose). I pulled out my retired  SU Cupcake Sizzlet Big Bold Cupcake Base and cut it down a bit so I could create a black border around it after I used PTI Background Basics tin Types to decorate the cupcake liner. I hunted and hunted, and finally realized I had loaned out the “icing” for my cupcake to be used as a cloud for a friend’s class. So, I looked around and discovered my Your Next Stamp Cloud and subbed it for the icing! I bordered it as well with black and added sprinkles. I remembered seeing some cards around blogland with cute little bakery awnings so I put some on  top of my photo frame and added an appropriate sentiment from PTI Sweet As Can Be. I got a little carried away, would you believe I used 14 Dimensionals on this card? In person, it was worth every one of them!

SU Secret Garden with En Francais

I used Sandy’s sketch from the Paper Players # 164 and the colors and wet embossing (for the flower) from Dynamic Duos # 71  to make this card. I decided on a Birthday card since that seems to be the one most people are asking me to make for them these days…
