I pulled out my Stampin’ UP! Watercolor Pencils and my Blender Pens to do some coloring…
The fine lined flower images in the Stampin’ UP! Flowers of Friendship stamp set can be colored with Stampiin’ Blends but this time, I colored them with watercolor pencils and pulled the color around with a Blender Pen. I drew some scattered dots to fill in some white space.
The white panel I stamped the flowers on is 2-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ bordered by a 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. You should use Stazon Ink with Stampin’ UP! Blender Pens like you do when watercoloring with ink so the image doesn’t run because of the ingredients in the two products. Also, do NOT use Stazon with Alcohol based markers as they will definitely run. You can see another pattern in the Annual Catalog Host DSP Pattern Party.
OH, this is my favorite item in the NEW July- December 2021 Mini (Holiday) Catalog!!! I enjoyed playing around with all the things you can do with the Stampin’ UP! Merriest Moments Bundle!
Watch this video I made showing how to use the Stampin’ UP! Merriest Moments Bundle with the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder…it is so verstile! It is available on August 3!
My white card simply uses the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder as a traditional embossing folder.
The Polished Pink card uses the die inside the hybrid embossing folder that embosses and cuts at the same time.
This is just awesome- gorgeous deep embossing and die cut at the same time! But that’s not all the bundle can do…
The Soft Sea Foam card uses the intricate framed die AFTER the framed foliage was embossed and die cut using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder. The die shown below does NOT go in the embossing folder.
Note: I used a white foliage frame on the card below but showed you the sample with a Soft Sea Foam above:)
And…you can even emboss and die cut a panel in white with the hybrid embossing folder (or another color for that matter) and inlay a contrasting color foliage frame! You then get the fun little starry snowflakes from the embossing folder that surround the frame:) Pretty cool, huh?
All cards are A2 sized- 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ that fit in a medium envelope. The landscape card base (Soft Sea Foam) is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ on the 8-1/2″ side. The portrait card bases (Polished Pink and Basic White) are 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ on the 11″ side.
They are packaged neatly in labeled clear protective bags

Here is a another card using the Stampin’ UP! Shaded Summer stamp set with the Summer Shadow Dies coming out with the Second Sale-a-bration 2021 on August 3…
I used the Stampin’ UP! Pattern Party Designer Series that is an Annual Catalog Host Gift. The floral pattern has the checkered pattern on the back of it- darn, I like both sides! And you know what is super cool about the floral pattern? It can be embossed with the gorgeous new Stampin’ UP! Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder in the Annual Catalog! You can see on the sample below in the upper right- it is the same DSP that is on the front of the card but embossed. The lower portion of the inside is cardstock embossed with the Pretty Flowers EF.
I used the Stampin’ UP! Basic Borders Dies to jazz up the outside and the inside. Just use the die on a piece of cardstock and use the two pieces that separate from each other.- one for the inside and one for the outside. I love the stitching on the border die:)
I think the Summer Shadow Dies will be a big hit during the upcoming Sale-a-bration 2021!
Ok, this was my first try at the Alcohol Markers on Vellum Technique…and if you have seen some on Pinterest…it is lacking the distinct veining in it. Oh, well, it’s different, and I like it especially with the Stampin’ UP! Sale-a-bration 2021 Summer Shadow Dies available August 3rd:)
I have to say that we did this card at my Team Meeting, and I demonstrated the technique of coloring with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers on vellum and spritzing with 90% Rubbing Alcohol. We then moved the ink around with a heat gun. It dries really quickly. You can see how the vellum really pops when it is mounted on white cardstock.
My girls’ vellum all had veining in them…the pic above shows more veining than mine! But…I really wanted to show you the Summer Shadows Dies that will be available during the second round of Stampin’ UP! Sale-a-bration 2021. Not only do you get the stand alone solid flowers with the open flowers I used on the card,
but also the dies to cut out the images in the Stampin’ UP! Shaded Summer stamp set in the Annual Catalog. I remembered thinking it would be nice to have dies with that set!
I stamped an image from the stamp set on the inside and colored it in with Marvelous Magenta, Granny Apple, and Daffodil Delight Blends. Notice the three little groups of three dots around the flowers? I had a stray dot after stamping the image so I fixed it by adding some more! I was so pleased with that fix! I used to do that all the time.
I plan on playing around with the Alcohol Markers with Vellum again to get more of a marbling design- but really, it will turn out different every time!
