A Negative makes a positive…

For Pals Paper Arts # 143, I used the negative of the SU Blossom punch to outline a fun SU DSP. When you punch out a flower, you end up with an awesome negative that I hate to waste. So I decided to use it  after seeing it on numerous blogs.

Up, Up, and Away with the Paper Players Challenge #114

I am in love with all the stamps in the SU Moving Forward set! Here’s the third image I have used lately. Everytime I use it, I am reminded of the donation Stampin’ Up makes to the Ronald McDonald charities for every set that is sold. I wanted to play around with the retired SU Kaliedacolor ink pads and chose the Calypso colors. The teal really jumped out at me after I stamped the image so I used Taken with Teal as the background for this card. All the other colors coordinated well with the ink. I got a kick out of the yellow fuzzy thread I laced through the button and the teal bling rhinestones by friend Wendy got me for my birthday:) Hope you like it!

Mojo Monday 260 Flutters by…

Mondays are days to look forward to when you know a new challenge will be up on the MOJO MONDAY blog site! This happens to be a stamp-free card where I used the Big Shot and a SU Bigz die called Beautiful Butterflies. I could easily put a cute little sentiment in the lower right hand corner but wasn’t set on what I wanted. Sometimes I let a card stew a while and then another idea comes to mind when I look at it later. Maybe I’ll see a place for more embellishment or a flaw that leads to me tearing it apart! I will admit I redid the purple butterfly this morning because it had an impression from a circle of a tag that was caught on the plate and it was driving me crazy!

It is a bright and sunny day today in Pittsburgh, and we who live here don’t take that for granted! I had some time to put together a Freshly Made Sketch challenge this morning and here it is….
