The cue word at CASology # 39 this week is TRAVEL. I knew I wanted to use a PTI set I have that I got years ago. My husband saw one of these cars the other day and told me all about his first “bug.” I don’t think I have ever ridden in one before? I drew the curly-Q exhaust from the bug myself;)
Card Recipe:
STAMPS: PTI Enjoy the Ride with die
INK: SU Basic Black, SU Only Orange
PAPER: SU Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: Metallic Dots
This is perfect! I love the “bug” stamp and die! So fun! Great job hand drawing your exhaust. 🙂
Thanks, Kristie. I have always loved this stamp- so fun to play with;)
Love the black exhaust – perfect design (ie not too elegant like some flourishes would have been) to go with the beetle! Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at CASology!
Thank you, Ardyth. I had a swirly kind of stamp that I wanted to use but it was one of those clear ones that the ink was just sitting on and was splotchy when it stamped. After many wasted attempts at a clean image, I gave up and drew one. In the end, I liked it;)
You drew the perfect swirl and i just love this card. Thank you so much for sharing with us this week at CASology!
Thanks, Tracey. That bug is a fave of mine. I have used it for graduation, new driver’s license, and wedding cards!
You tore this UP, Cindy. If this doesn’t win, I’ll … I’ll … hmmm, I don’t know what, but I can tell you that it’s a winner to me! Just adorable and such a perfectly drawn exhaust!!
Darnell, you are so funny! Thanks for the thumbs UP;)
Oh, what a fun card…it would be perfect for a graduate heading off to college! It made me smile, too, because the one and only VW bug I ever rode in was orange, like this one, and it had a hole in the floor so that you could actually see the road beneath you while riding in it! (A bit scary, but what an adventure!) Thanks for playing along at CASology this week!
Thanks,Judy. You made me laugh at your story. It made me think of the yellow Pinto my mom had with a hole in the floor. During the summer before my freshman year of college I took some classes with friends at the college we were going to attend in the fall which was about an hour away. I was always so embarrassed when it was my turn to drive. It even broke down one day!! Hahaha
What a fun image, Cindy … fabulous swirly exhaust … the dots make it seem as though it’s spluttering! Love the enamel dots too that echo the exhaust! Anita 🙂
Thanks, Anita. I never thought about the dots but that’s must have been a subconscious thought…lol
How fun is this? I love the headlights 🙂 Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
Thanks, Maureen. I must have loved those headlights too because I found one in my bed…must have stuck to my sock!!! HAHAHA
Love the exhaust and the brad headlights and who wouldn’t love an orange bug? Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!
Thanks, Jen. Doesn’t it just seem a bug should be orange?
Congratulations on your win over at CASology! Well, deserved. 🙂
Thanks, Kristie…and I believe congrats on in order for you as well, dear!
It is your lucky week! Congrats for the win….this is adorable!
Thanks, LeAnne. I am in shock!
Yay! I love it so much when I call a contest and the judges agree with me! I’m so thrilled for your win at CASology, Cindy!!
Thank you, Darnell. I was excited as much for you as for me;))
Fabulous card and definitely a Winner. I like the movement you created with the exhaust fumes.
Thank you, Susan. I appreciate your visit and it makes me happy to know you liked the card;)
Congrats on your well deserved win at CASology! I really love your card…the beetle, your curly-Q exhaust and the license plate just make it so special and so FUN!!!
PS: You should take one out for a test drive…I think you’ll find it lots of fun!
Barb, thanks so much for visiting and leaving a sweet comment. I am glad you enjoyed the card, and if I ever have the chance to take a ride…I most certainly will;)
