SU Vivid Vases

Happy Monday, amigos! I am so excited to be doing a product class next week with my local stamping gals using the Vivid Vases stamp set. I was playing around with the  set this past weekend and came up with this card for Freshly Made Sketches # 139.

FMS139

I used the new Blendabilities alcohol markers again and glossed up the vases with Crystal Effects. I always forget how cool Crystal Effects is! I hope you can see the effect on the second photo:) I finished it off with a Cherry Cobbler Chevron ribbon bow to create a tag look in the sketch.

SU Secret Garden with Delightful Dozen

I played along with a new challenge site for me. I have seen some of the bloggers I stalk participating in the  Colour Me Card Challenge, and this weekend I had some time to actually submit something. The CMCC #23 asked us to use monochromatic Coastal Cabana with a neutral color. You should check it out!

I decided to try my new SU Blendabilities  alcohol markers with some Fresh Prints DSP from the last Occasions catalog since it fit right into the CMCC# 23 and the cool inspiration card by Vicki Dutcher at the MUSE Card Club Challenge #70.

This was my first coloring attempt with the Coastal Cabana ones so be patient with me. I essentially just used the three colors separately without actually blending them.

SU Secret Garden with a Dozen Thoughts Color Me

SU Secret Garden Close Up Coastal Cabana

I loved the coverage without streaking like regular markers- it’s like the ink just melts together. I am looking forward to playing some more with the other colors in the future. SU has projected that the Blendabilities will be available near the end of June so the the supply is secure when orders start coming in for them:) They are economical too- 3 shades of a color in a 3 marker pack for $12.95. I never invested in other branded alcohol markers in the past because I knew it would be not only difficult with all the shades but could be very costly so I am so excited there are now alcohol markers in Stampin’ Up colors -even skin tones! WooHoo!

I decided on a card for my mom with a sentiment from  SU A Dozen Thoughts since the one I made her for Mother’s Day actually got mailed but never arrived at her mailbox. I had stopped at my MIL’s home the other day and saw her card on the mantle, and it made me think that my mom had never mentioned hers? I then asked her, and she said she never received it! That was a bummer since I actually did mail it! LOL. Good thing I could show her I did make her one even before Mother’s Day- see this post!

Don’t forget to check out the Weekly Deals ending tomorrow- you can view them from the Top Bar of my blog labeled  WEEKLY DEALS .

SU Four You – Hello

Now, you would think with all this inspiration, I could let my creative juices run wild.

Well, let’s just say…I was in the CAS mood the day I had time to get my post done so here ya go, stampers… (sorry my sentiment looks washed out in the photo- it really doesn’t in person?)

The NEW Catalog is open for business…

Yesterday was my birthday, and I got a great present- the launch of the NEW  2014-15 Stampin’ Up Catalog!!

20140602_AnnualCatalog_en-US-CA

But before ordering was opened in the afternoon, I woke up to these sweet treats from my two kiddos who are home for the summer. My daughter had early in-services at the hospital from 6 am to 8 am so she had the posies all fresh and waiting for me in the kitchen when she got home. My son, a fellow Giant Eagle icing fanatic, got the cake for me. Thanks to Juliane for picking it up:)

Now, some of you with little ones are still getting  hand-made cards, and some of you like me have grown up kids and remember those little masterpieces they made us. Although part of my children’s inheritance in sitting in my stamping room, Sarah decided to make a card for me like she did when she was a youngster. The inside was just priceless- a special note any mother would cherish (kleenex needed.) Now, the SU Demo in me thought…hmmm…almost like SU Sketched Birthday balloons? Must show her these!

My son and I picked up my hubby at the airport, and he said…I know the catalog is open now, what SU goodies do you want for your birthday? I pulled out the catalog, and thought “well, everything I don’t have now…lol.” Now, on a more serious note, I thought this was a great time to show you my top five favorites (right now- subject to change as I peruse over the cattie daily.) Stay tuned for the next few posts to see my favorite stamps and embellishments in the new catalog.
