SU All Ye Faithful

 October 18, 2015

One of my stamping pals told me…”I must have every nativity stamp ever made but I just have to have this one, too!” I agreed with her as I had just purchased the SU All Ye Faithful and the SU Every Blessing stamp sets. I had an idea from a swap for the Every Blessing stamp set but was a little stumped how to use  all of the images in the All Ye Faithful stamp set. It is so pretty but takes a little imagination to use all the stamps.

I played around for quite a while and came up with this design:

SU All Ye Faithful Front View

SU All Ye Faithful Gold Glimmer!

I would have liked to have the shepherds on the front but in the end, I thought the shepherds were appropriate with the inside sentiment since it was indeed a wondrous event to have the KING of KINGS born among them in humble surroundings.

SU All Ye Faithful Inside! Gold

Soooooo, we made this card at our Stamp a Stack this weekend…however, a funny thing happened on the way to my mall class 20 minutes away from home…Miss Cindy Bee brought all the ovals but one that apparently was sitting on my desk! Oh yes, the one that was needed to fit inside the black oval to frame Jesus. After I prayed to Jesus for a solution for my mistake all while having a mini-stroke because the black and gold ovals were pre-cut…this is what transpired…when He shuts one door, He opens another…and sometimes we like it better!

SU All Ye Faithful Bigger oval framed

Of course, you know I die cut my small Gold Glimmer oval on the front from the Gold Glimmer panel underneath the white panel on the front. I even did another fun thing with the Gold Glimmer panel underneath- the first person to notice what I used it for in the next few weeks will receive some blog candy from me…so be on the look out!

A Fun Weekend!

October 12, 2015

Imagine being invited to a women’s long weekend retreat where you get to share a home with 9 women who have been friends forever stamping, shopping, eating, sharing, worshiping, and praying for each other. That is exactly what I was blessed with this past weekend. A lovely group of women I have met through stamping invited me along on their special weekend.

Our fearless and miraculous leader and Queen of Bling, Donna and I:

I knew 3 of the ladies previously but got to know all the other incredible women with unique lives over the last five days. I am so very thankful they included me as I was tremendously blessed by their warm personalities. We had devotions every morning, dinners every night, and even took in a show at the amazing Sight and Sound’s production of Joseph-
a wonderful reminder of the power of forgiveness and love…

We stayed at  The Scrap Pad in Dover, PA that is run by Pat and Heather Jordan. Yes, a house totally devoted to stamping and scrapping.

By the second day, I literally thought I had died and went to heaven and lived with nine other friends I passed in the kitchen on the way to the craft room.

We bunked with each other seeing who snored the loudest and who didn’t! Our living room had 10 big tables for each of us to work at over the days we were there. I must have cut over well over 3000 pieces of paper as I prepared for my upcoming Christmas Stamp-a-Stack this weekend. However, it was light work with the comraderie of the others crafting away in my big living room!

We all took a break from each of our own crafting projects on Friday night when Pat held a class for us. Here are 3 of the cards she had packaged and ready for us to make: one using the SU The Wilderness Awaits stamp set and the Bohemian embossing folder,

SU The Wilderness Awaits wBohemian EF

one using the SU Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set and the Brick Wall embossing folder,

SU Heartfelt Sympathy Brick Wall

and a fun Christmas card using the SU Snow Place stamp set
with the SU Snow Friends framelits.

The icing on the cake is I got to end my weekend stopping off in Washington, DC to have a birthday dinner with my middle son on his actual 25th birthday!

What a blessing he is to me:)
