How fun…a triple challenge at The Friday Mashup #102 using the sketch, butterflies, and a brayer! I have only brayered one other time about five years ago, and I failed miserably so I just stuck to sponging. But, I was determined to learn this brayering technique. After watching some tutorials, I learned to a few things:
- Don’t load your brayer going back and forth on the pad- do it in one swoop up and then down again with another swoop avoiding hitting the edge of the pad. This keeps the brayer uniformly inked without lines in it.
- If using a Kaleidacolor ink pad, keep the pads disconnected from each other and every couple of swoops move your brayer to the left or right to create a seamless blended area between colors.

As I searched my cache for a sentiment- I came across SU Spring Party (retired), and who would’ve guessed that I would get an email alert from Addicted to CAS # 9 – code word: SPRING!! My brayered tie dye effect reminded me of a party I had for my daughter about ten years ago, and that is just what the sentiment says.
