I just got back from visiting my parents and my grandparents this evening. I am so blessed to have both of them live only 45 minutes away from me in a lovely over 55 retirement community. My husband is away on business so I got to eat my mom’s homestyle cooking tonight. I can’t express how wonderful the four of them are…they would do anything, at anytime, for anyone! I was reminded as I drove home that I need to cherish every moment with them and not take them for granted. I wanted to post a card for The Friday Mashup # 104 tonight so I made my grandpa’s birthday card for when he turns 90- a simple card for a man who is no frills just the epitome of honor and integrity. Notice the umbrella the embossed man is holding? Sorry, I could not mash it up with a Double Z fold this time but I did combine it with the Dynamic Duos #47 colors this week.
Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Family Reunion
INK: SU Pool Party, SU Cherry Cobbler
PAPER: SU Whisper White, SU Pool Party, SU Cherry Cobbler
ACCESSORIES: SU Metallic Brads (retired), Baker’s Twine

You are indeed SO blessed, Cindy! I absolutely LOVE this card!!
Oh, Darnell, I think so many times we just don’t realize how special every person is in our life. Thanks for your sweet comment.
What a fantastic card for your grandpa. I love that image…so clean and simple, yet very powerful.
And yes, enjoy every moment! I lost my beloved grandparents a few yrs ago….Grandma in June 2008 and Grandpa May 2009. I miss them terribly!
Thanks for playing along with us at The Friday Mashup!
Thanks, Lisa. I am trying to spend as much time as I can. My 89 year old grandparents are sharps as tacks and an inspiration to our whole family!
Oh, I didn’t know that image came as an embossing folder. How very nice for your grandfather! Thanks for joining the Friday Mashup this week.
Thank you, Heidi. My husband got that EF for me as a stocking stuffer…wondered how I would use it- thanks for the challenge at TFM!!!
