Sara’s Friday Mashup Challenge # 188 :

This week’s Mashup Challenge is:
Create a project using “Silver or Gold.”
 Create a “Christmas Project.”
 or
Mash it Up! and create a “Christmas-themed Project with Silver or Gold.”

We did this cute Santa Nugget Box using the Top Note Bigz Die at class this week:

SU Santa Nugget Box

I used the measurements for the box that connects to the SU Top Note Bigz Die

from Sharon Rivera’s Halloween treat HERE.

I love that the entire project only uses one sheet of cardstock

(1/2 sheet for the Top Note die cuts and 1/2 sheet for the box/tag.)

*TIP: To make the fur (1″ wide) and belt (3/4″ wide), just make a plus sign on the Top Note die in the middle of each of the vertical and horizontal planes. It is a quick way to have a perfect match with no cutting on the pointed middle edges on the top and bottom. Both are cut at the same time! Then emboss the fur with the SU Perfect Polka Dots EF.  I used the Curly Label punch to make the belt buckle.

The sentiment tag was made with the retired SU Oh, Goodie Stamp set cut with the Itty Bitty Banners Framelit that sits on the long narrow banner from the SU Gift Card Thinlit Die. When you cut for the red box, you have your scrap to make the tag.

Stampin’ Up Only Challenge #111 asks us to use a tag this round so I am adding it to the gallery over there. I just loved the “HO HO HO” sentiment with the Santa!

Great little gift that is quick to make filled with some yummy chocolate that anyone would be happy to receive. What else do you think you could fill this box up with for someone?

  1. What a cute box to hold nuggets! I’ll have to remember about cutting the fur/belt on the die, too! The Ho Ho Ho tie is darling! Thanks for playing along with the SUO Tag Challenge this week!
