SU World of Dreams Watercolor Wash

June 21, 2015

Hope you all are having a wonderful Father’s Day celebrating your dad, husband, sons and son-in-laws in person or reliving fond memories you have had with them if they are gone. We have one kid on a cross country road trip and two kids working so hubby and I are having a relaxing day! He is a generous, thoughtful, hard-working man who undoubtedly has his three kids and wife on his mind all the time- we call him our roadie- always setting the stage for us.

It is funny how it is hard to even show him the gratitude he deserves for all he does for us. Nothing would really even convey it. But I have to say, he was so taken with the simple card he got today (you can see it here) …he took a photo of it and sent it to the kids. He even asked if I could frame it for his office!

I got him a Nespresso coffee maker with a milk frother, and he had a ball making us coffee this morning. Now, if I can convince him to let me take him for a gourmet hot dog today- it will be glorious. I guess I made out on HIS Father’s Day!

I wanted to show you another card we also did at our SU World of Dreams Product Class last week. My friend, Linda Heller, inspired me to try watercoloring washing on SU Shimmer Paper. I simply masked off the edges of the Shimmer Paper with Washi tape and brushed over the Shimmer Paper with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie watercolor wash that I created from watered down ink refill drops- about 2 drops of refill ink with 10-12 drops of water. Let it dry or heat gently with your heat gun.
Carefully remove the washi tape and stamp!

You definitely can not see the shimmer in the photo but it has a cool, subtle look in person. I used the sentiment from SU Wetlands. This card could easily be done with masking and sponging on white cardstock as well.
I love the CAS look of it, don’t you?
