Since there are 26 letters in the alphabet, I could be posting one for the next 24 days…but I won’t. I just could not resist doing another one for the CASual Fridays Challenge #90 -Black and White+ one color. I could not use yesterday’s baby card post since Dynamic Duos asks not to be entered with another color challenge- if I read the rules correctly? Anyhow, I was inspired to make this card from Marion Vagg’s card on the MUSE #6 Challenge:
I totally was in awe of Marion’s use of Washi tape. I have been seeing this everywhere and wanted to get my hands on some. Last week, my friend Sandy and I had a fun girls’ running around day, and I picked up some of this trendy Washi tape…and here I got to not only use it but also get dizzy looking at it:
Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Occasions Alphabet
INK: SU Whisper White, SU Basic Black
PAPER: SU Basic Black, SU Whisper WHite
ACCESSORIES: Washi Tape
TOOLS: Nestabilities Ovals, Paper Hole Puncher
Oooh! I LOVE this one. The colors are perfect.
Thank you, Kristie. Being from Pittsburgh- those colors are a part of me! From all the sports teams we love to my kids’ Bible Quiz Team colors for years when they were young. Go Black and Gold!
Fabulous card, I love the yellow and black.
Thanks, Nina. It’s funny how the tape is straight but fools with the eyes…
This is really lovely.
Thank you, Gillian. I think I could go wild with Washi tape- it is fun to work with on a card.
What a fun graphic design … perfect for a boy or girl … awesome.
Thanks, Stef. I appreciate your comment. I know my daughter and son both liked this design so it seems to be gender neutral;)
Cindy, this card is fantastic in every.single.way!!
Thank you, Darnell. When I was putting the Washi tape on, I kept thinking of you and your post about using it- made me smile;)
Cindy, this is fabulous, I love your CAS design and the little extra dots are perfect.
Thanks, Sandie. I looked for little metallic or acrylic jewels but none i had matched so I used my paper puncher- and they matched perfectly;)
Crisp, clean and so classic! Great card Cindy!
Thank you, Jackie. I do believe I am hooked on using Washi tape more in the future!
Love this … precise, simple and with tons of white space … fabulous! Anita in France 🙂
Thank you, Anita. I am starting to really love having white space and its effect on a card;)
I love those chevrons and the fabulous color combo! Thanks so much for playing with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
Thank you, Lynn. Can’t go wrong with Black n Gold in Pittsburgh;)

AWESOME!! This is so eye catching!! Really pops!!
Thanks, Angela. It looks like those chevrons are moving if you look too long…hahaha.
Thanks, Deb. That chevron can get your eyes going crazy…lol.
I LOVE this card! From the inverted washi tapes to the tiny dots around the focal oval…it’s just fabulous! 🙂 Great design!

Love how you alternated the tape on either side of the sentiment. I think it really adds something to the design.
Thanks, Tanis. I was a little nervous switching them with the different widths of the chevrons but I liked it in the end;)
Thank you, Lauren. My husband just visited me in my stamping room, and said, “I like that tape stuff.” So, I may refer to it as tape stuff from now on….
This is fab, love the colours
Thanks, Gillian. Fun card to make;)
Love these covers! I went crazy when I got my iPhone too. I have a lepraod one similar to the top right but I think I need the lips one and the hearts. Decisions, decisions!
Love your black and yellow colour scheme – it looks great with all that white space…fab graduate card!
