SU Six Sided Sampler

It’s time for Geometry Class, kiddos. Lynda has a challenge for us to use hexagons and triangles on our Friday Mashup # 148 project this week.

1. Create a project with “Hexagons”.

2. Create a project with “Triangles”.

3. Create a project with “Hexagons and Triangles”.

I do love clean lines and geometric patterns but it took me a while to come up with something. Make sure you check out what the Design Team came up with this week- inspiring! I looked for a sketch challenge to help me out and found Retrosketches # 102 .

Here is what I came up with…can’t wait to see yours!
P.S. My husband just said this is the ugliest card he has ever seen…hmmm…I hope someone likes it;(

SU Weekly Deals February 18-25 and Some Love from Friends…

Just arrived in Florida last night after a lovely drive down from Pittsburgh with my hubby. He has been traveling a lot so it was nice to have him all to myself for 18 hours! Now, I say it was a lovely drive since Pittsburgh and surrounding areas are under snow/sleet/rain attack now. Stay safe up there, friends and family! Congrats, Zac!

My oldest son graduated law school last May and passed the FLA Bar in July. He was just accepted into the University of Miami Law School for his Legal Master’s Degree starting in the Fall 2014. We are so proud of him! So, when I saw the Pals Paper Arts # 191 color challenge this week of Orange and Green- it just shouted “Go Canes” to me.

This is super exciting for his dad since U of M is his alma mater. Here is a little Congrats card for him since I will get to see him on Monday night!!!

I used the retired SU Riveting stamp set, and I am not sure what company made the Congratulations stamp. Both of the stars come from SU- the larger one from the Circle Flip Card Die and the smaller one from the Scensational Season Framelits. Oh, and I just love the Gumball Green Satin Stitched ribbon and those coordinating SU Candy Dots to finish off a card!

LeAnne at the Paper Players # 183 gave me inspiration for using STARS and the Deconstructed Sketch # 138 gave me a blueprint to jumpstart my design…thanks so much!!

SU Bright Blossoms IN COLOR 2013-15

I loved Jen’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches # 123 this week with the eight circles. I first saw Linda Callahan’s card and thought…Holy Schmokes- amazing- then, I checked out the rest of the DT cards, too- WOW!

I set out on my search for that something that would lend itself to being stamped eight times. In the end, I picked up my SU Bright Blossoms I had lying on my desk because I had thought of using it for my Friday Mashup challenge. I picked out the tulip-looking flower and decided I would use all of SU’s IN COLOR 2013-15 colors on my card. It is really simple but I like it…

SU Fun Flowers Post-It Note Holder

We made some cute Post-It note holders at class last week so I used the design for my Dynamic Duos Black Tie Challenge # 90 this week with the bright and cheery Daffodil Delight.

It is so simple to make- just take a 4″ X 10 1/2″ piece of card stock and score at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/4″ on the long side. Fold on the score lines into each other to create an easel. Decorate a 4″ by 5 1/4″ rectangle that will adhere to the 2 3/4″ portion that sits up against the Post-It note pad. Make sure you put your adhesive on the 2 3/4″ piece not on the decorated panel when you adhere them to each other. That way you won’t have any stray adhesive showing on the back of the panel;)

I used the SU Fun Flowers Bigz die along with and the SU Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly to decorate my panel. The striped paper is from SU Gingham Garden and the Polka Dots from SU Polka Dot Parade. I used a stamp from Everyday Messages by Stampendous.
