SU Wishing You…not just for Christmas

When I first saw the SU Wishing You set I thought about birthday presents as well as Christmas presents. Well, I finally got around to making it work for a birthday card thanks to Avery’s Friday Mashup # 147 Challenge this week.

Create a project with “Spritzing / Splattering”.

or Create a project using the “Sketch & Spritzing”.

I “mashed it up” with the sketch and splatters using SU Gorgeous Grunge. It’s a bright one for sure but a welcome burst of color during this dreary, cold winter.

SU Zoo Babies and Weekly Deals

I have not made a baby card for awhile. When I saw the colors for Pals Paper Arts #190 this week, I thought the time had come to use my SU Zoo Babies. The gray just said “elephant” to me so I went  from there…

Paper Crafters Sampler 2014- February Release

There are just a few more weeks of winter.  How about a few rays of faux sun beams to get you thinking of the warmer weather ahead?

Feb 2014 widget_sml

Our February issue, Starburst Mélange, contains projects with beams radiating from a central point, similar to the sun.  The design team found this theme to be especially challenging, and yet each has come through with such varying designs. Their projects will open your eyes to the possibilities of designing with starburst.
Head over to the Paper Crafters Sampler to see what’s going on this month…not only will you see the new February Starburst Melange 2014 Release but also the archived issues of Paper Crafters Sampler.
I will be posting my sneak peek soon…be on the lookout!

SU Alphabet Bigz Die

I checked in with CASology  as I do each week and actually came up with a quick and simple something for the  #81 Cue word: AND…

Week 81 - And

SU AlphabetBigz Die enhanced

I used the SU Silver Glimmer Paper with Real Red and Basic Black along with the Alphabet Bigz Dies.  I popped up the ampersand with dimensionals. Ah, I see I took the photo before the black border was added- I think it needed the border to show off the Glimmer paper. What do you think?

SU Stippled Blossoms

I just adore the Stippled Blossoms stamp set- it is so beautiful when stamped. Of course, my best friend, the Stamp-a-ma-jig, makes it so easy to create a beautiful two-step blossom. With different posies and different leaves- a complete bouquet of loveliness from this one set # 126747.

I decided to use it for my Dynamic Duos Soft and Subtle Challenge # 89 using Blushing Bride and Pistachio Pudding this week.

I think the Design Team all had flowers on their minds this week….what will you do with the colors? I love seeing everyone’s take each week- you are all an inspiration to me.

I was also inspired by Vicki Dutcher’s card at the MUSE Card Club #53 this week. The sympathy theme, the layers of bordering, and the clustering of elements on her card inspired part of my design- I just remembered I forgot to add a little butterfly on my flowers! Alas, I already gave it to my friend so I can’t do that now…
