SU Summer Silhouettes

What a fun time I had last night with my stamping friends- we all had dinner and class with our friend, Stacey Ailes. She prepared some beautiful cards for us, and I got to use the sweet SU Summer Silhouettes stamp set. I love it!   I like how she showed us to use a white gel pen to accent the smaller flowers. I was inspired to  design a card using this set and decided the ColourQ Challenge # 194 was a great starting point. I did not have any SU Poppy Parade ink but I did have some Poppy Parade Polka Dot DSP so I used it to ground my image. The think the SU firm foam ink pads stamp darker than my old  linen ones and this time was no exception- it looks as if the DSP and the lacey flower are the same color! But, those flowers are indeed Calypso Coral.  I used another new favorite sentiment from the new catalog found in the SU Simply Sketched set- a hostess gift with a qualifying order.

  1. This is just lovely, Cindy! I agree, the foam pads (especially the 2013 ones) are quite juicy and stamp differently that the old ones. Just a matter of getting used to, I think. And maybe we won’t have to ink them up as much! Anyway, I love your floral images here along with that big bold sentiment! Great way to highlight the colors! Thanks for playing with the ColourQ challenge this week!

    1. Thanks, LeAnne. Yeah, they take getting used too but I hold onto my oldies for fine stamping. I liked the colors this week- fun to play with.
