SU Perfectly Penned for Sale-A Bration 2013

I love the Sycamore Street Designer Paper available during Sale-A Bration this year- so very colorful. I especially adore this dotted pattern of Pool Party, Island Indigo, Sahara Sand, and Tangerine Tango. Over at the MUSE Card Club #4 this week, Designer Laurie Willison wowed me with her creation shown below:

There were so many ways I felt inspired by her beautifully designed card but I kept going back to the DSP and how it could be used. I then really pondered what jumped out at me first with Laurie’s card and decided it was the flower and the popped out middle. As I cruised around Card Challenges this week, I came across Fab Friday 11 that I haven’t played in a while so I used its sketch and Laurie’s inspiration to make this….

SU Two Tags Die isn’t just for Christmas…

I love all the holidays and the sweets that go along with them! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner…there are such cute treats popping up all over the Papercrafting World. You have probably seen a lot over the past week  and this post won’t be any different. I saw this cute little lollipop holder at Leadership Conference last month. I am sorry I could not get the name of who made the particular one I saw but I have been seeing them everywhere;) I decided these would be perfect favors for Stamp Camp tonight and tomorrow so I used the colors from Dynamic Duos #38 this week to create them.

SU Close as a Memory…

I struggled over the last few days trying to make the colors at ColourQ #174 work for me and finally figured something out with inspiration from The Paper Players #131– SYMPATHY. Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals inks made pretty watercolor flowers with Early Espresso stems/leaves with the retired SU Close as a Memory stamp set. Normally, I would have bordered the main image with one of the flower colors but, in the end, I think the Pink (that I think was the hardest for me to fit in) was better than using one of the flower colors. The image reminded me of handpicked flowers from a field so I used the SU Woodgrain EF to mimic a tree trunk found on the outskirts of the field.

SU Cold Play-Two Tag Snowman

Freshly Made Sketches # 71 contains a tag this week. I thought of the Christmas tags I made this year inspired by Connie Plaumann. I got out my retired SU Cold Play and my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the coals just right on my snowman. I added a fresh spring of pine to his hat and wrapped a lovely felt scarf around his neck before I placed him among some embossed snowflakes. I added a sweet little sentiment to the bottom right of the card and it is ready to send this December….don’t know why I didn’t make this card last December? Maybe because I wasn’t inspired by FMS to make a card with a tag in it???

Playing GAMES with CASology #29 and CASual Fridays #88…

When I was a kid I loved playing classic Dominos with my brothers. But if they were not around, I could always play with the Dominos myself by lining them up and knocking them down. We also loved the game Tri-ominos but I think that would have been more of a challenge to create on this card for CASology #29…LOL. I chose to make the Domino a double four and use a play on words for a neat gift card for any occasion.  Using the individual Alphabet Stamps to make my words gave me the opportunity to submit this card to a new site for me- CASual Fridays #88. To make it look more realistic, I dry embossed around the edges and through the middle of the domino and popped it off the card..in real person, it looks neat;)
